Verification is a six-digit code by text message — resend after thirty seconds, or ask for a voice call instead. No passwords to invent, nothing new to remember.

Find your own schedule on the roster and claim it. The first claim is free, and you get 24 hours to correct a mis-tap at no cost.
Changing it later
Switching which schedule is "you" after that takes a fresh phone verification and costs $9.99. If someone claims that schedule first while you're paying, the charge becomes a credit — never money lost.

An inbox, not an ambush
Schedules other members contribute arrive in a badged inbox where you accept or decline each one — and declining is reversible. Nothing auto-enters your calendar.
The admin sets the rules
By default members can contribute only their own schedule. The admin can open it up to group members' schedules too — the cautious setting is the starting one.
Honesty when links break
If a calendar link you contributed stops working, it's paused and you're told — plainly, and only about your own links, never anyone else's.
What a Company shares — and what it never does.
A Company is a shared workspace, and the app says so up front, before you create or join one. Here is the same honesty:
Anyone holding the code can see
- The names and shift schedules of everyone in the Company.
- Your ShiftHawk name and verified phone number, once you claim a schedule.
- Who added each schedule.
What never gets shown or kept in the open
- Your scheduling link itself is encrypted and is never shown to other members.
- Phone numbers and calendar links are stored scrambled, sealed and unsealed only inside the server — never readable from the database.
- The Company Code is never stored as-is — only a fingerprint that can't be reversed.
Treat the Company Code like a password — only share it with people you work with. And as everywhere in ShiftHawk: your employer isn't involved, there's nothing for your workplace to install, and ShiftHawk stores no patient or health information.

Does my employer run this?
No. Any member of a workplace can start a Company — it belongs to the people in it, not to the organisation. There's nothing for your workplace to install, approve, or pay for. ShiftHawk stays what it's always been: your personal app.
What does it cost?
Creating a Company is free. Joining is free. Pulling the whole roster is free. The only paid action in Company is changing which schedule is "you" after your one free claim — $9.99, with a 24-hour window to fix a mistake at no cost.
What if the code gets lost?
It can't be recovered — from anyone, including ShiftHawk, because it's never stored in a readable form. Whoever created the Company confirmed they saved it before the app would continue; ask them. That's the price of a code nobody can steal from a server.
Can I leave?
Any time, no questions. Leaving wipes the Company's data from your phone first, unconditionally — it even works with no signal. Your own schedule and everything you set up outside the Company stay untouched.
